I've been teaching guitar for over 25 years. I have a bachelor and masters in classical guitar performance and composition from the University of Ottawa. I have performed all over Europe and Canada as a classical and jazz guitarist. As a classical guitarist I have studied with Patrick Roux, William Kanengiser (from Los Angeles Guitar Quartet), Leo Brouwer, Fabio Zanon, Sergio and Odair Assad, Jimmy Bruno and Denis Chang and many others. I also perform in several gypsy jazz groups around Ottawa and can teach you about the style of Django Reinhardt. I also used to play in several heavy metal groups and can also help you with that style. I've toured around Canada with the tango nuevo group "Norteno" and was a semi-finalist in the "voix et guitares du monde" competition in Montelimar, France.
I also recently completed a bachelor in education and can teach guitarists of all abilities from beginner to advanced and will fit my lessons to any learning style. If you're just starting to learn how to play or if you hit a plateau and would like to break past it or if you're looking to prepare for an audition to enter university give me a call. I have over 80 videos on youtube, 30 of which are free lessons ranging from theory to technique.
Here's a link to my Youtube channel for examples of some lessons and performances:
I can teach you about fingerboard theory, improvisation, technique, ear-training, interpretation etc... My approach has evolved to give immediate results to all of my students regardless of ability and has come about from over 25 years of teaching guitar and music to beginners and professionals alike.
I live in the Hull area (5 mins from downtown Ottawa) but also am able to travel to you depending on your area. For any questions or comments feel free to drop me an email or to book your first lesson. J'enseigne en francais aussi!
