Montreal Yesterdays

Montreal Yesterdays by Edgar Andrew Collard, former Editor of the Gazette, was originally published in 1962. This hard cover copy is a Second Edition, Revised 1963. This book is a collection of columns by Collard that appeared in the Montreal Gazette for six decades composed of vignettes from Montreal's history, sometimes including the famous, other times telling the story of ordinary Montrealers from the late 18th century to the early 20th century. Accompanied by sketches from long time Gazette cartoonist John Collins, the stories also highlight many long-departed Montreal buildings and institutions. Good condition. A few small stains and tiny tears at edges of dust jacket.
