A Career with the Reserves
Members of the Reserve Force generally work part-time for a reserve unit in their community. They are not posted or required to do a military move. However, they can volunteer to move to another base. They may also volunteer for deployment on a military mission within or outside Canada. As a reservist, the choice to go is always voluntary. The main role of the Reserve Force is to support the Regular force at home and abroad.
The following position is available for part-time employment in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve Force.
JOB TITLE- MOSID 00135 Aviation Systems Technician
As an Aviation Systems Technician (AVN) in the Canadian Armed forces, you will be part of the Air Reserve Flight Torbay team, responsible for AVN duties.
Perform flight line duties, including marshalling, towing, installing and removing power to aircraft.
Maintain aircraft severing equipment.
General hangar and Flight line duties as directed.
Pay and Benefits
Pay will start at $90.30 a day for days you work and as you are qualified will increase up to $147.58. This could be achieved in as little as two years or longer depending on training availability and your availability to attend courses.
Training and Advancement
All training will be provided, including basic training consisting of 12 weeks in St Jean, QC, followed by technical training consisting of 9 months in CFB Borden, ON.
There will also be room for advancement up through the rank structure.
A successful candidate must:
be a Canadian Citizen,
have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondary IV (in Quebec),
have parental consent if under 18,
meet Canadian Armed Forces medical standards,
successfully complete selection process, interview and examinations, and;
pass physical fitness test.
