Would you like to easily share photographic prints or 35mm slides with family and friends? Consider scanning your slides as a wonderful birthday, Easter, Christmas or wedding present. More importantly slides, photographs or negatives deteriorate over time AND are at risk of being lost forever due to mold, heat, humidity, fire, flooding, theft or loss during house moves. Protect your precious memories now by copying them to a digital format.
35mm slides issues:
THE OLD WAY: to see your Slides you have to:
1-Find the projector
2-Find the projection screen
3-Setup the projector /screen
4-Projector not working anymore ?
5-Bulb burned out?
6-Where to buy bulbs?
7-Turn out the lights
IT COULD BE MUCH EASIER: Watching digital images
1-Connect laptop to large screen TV (HDMI etc.) or watch on monitor
2-insert USB jump drive or CD/DVD which contains your pictures
3-watch pictures whenever you want wherever you want
SECURITY AGAINST LOSS: Slides are more vulnerable to loss than photographs which are typically backed up by a negative strip and there are often duplicate prints stored in different physical locations. A slide is typically un-duplicated and there is NO backup such as a negative.
Sharing digital copies of 35mm slides and photographs is very easy. You can easily share scanned digital copies of older prints or slides with friends and family via e-mail, Facebook, USB Memory sticks, CD/DVD's or cloud storage (One Drive, Google Drive etc.) on the Internet.
Inherited Historic Family Photographs can be more equitably split up among family members or shared on Genealogy sites once they are converted to a digital format
Conserve and protect your aging slides/photographs by converting them to a digital format.
Improperly stored 35mm slides or photographs can deteriorate over time. Temperature extremes, humidity, mold etc. can damage colours and warp slide mounts. Even properly stored slides (especially non-premium brand film) will fade out over time.
