The HOC8H 8 Inch Wood Chipper with Hydraulic Infeed is a durable PTO driven wood chipper attachment designed for commercial use. It mounts to the 3-point hitch of your category 1 or category 2 tractor and features a self-feeding mechanism. 2 Canadian Steel Infeed Rollers Powered by 2 Hydraulic Motors enable the HOC8H to effortlessly haul 8 Inch diameter materials into the chipper head. These motors are fueled by the chipper's self-contained hydraulic pump and tank. 

SELF CONTAINED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The HOC8H comes with a self-contained hydraulic pump and a 38L / 10 Gal reservoir tank that provides power to the two infeed motors. This means you don't need to rely on hydraulic systems on your tractor. The infeed rollers, which are speed adjustable and designed for aggressive performance, work in a dual counter-rotating manner to effectively pull materials into the chipper head. This feature allows the operator to reduce infeed speed when dealing with large-sized materials.

FLYWHEEL HOUSING

The HOC8H wood chipper comes with a 24" 220 lb diameter Canadian Made flywheel enabling efficient chipping of various branches. The flywheel is housed in 8mm thick steel. This design incorporates easy access panels, allowing for quick and convenient replacement of chipper knives within 10 minutes. The HOC8H employs a 2" main shaft that passes through the flywheel housing. It is supported by one pillow block and two flange bearings. This design provides superior reliability and minimizes potential issues in case of a jam.

EFFECTIVE SUCTION SYSTEM

The flywheel chamber of the HOC8H wood chipper provides a powerful suction. This suction draws air into the chamber and, when combined with the fan blades on the back of the flywheel, effectively expels the wood chips from the machine. This design ensures that the discharge chute stays unobstructed and minimizes the risk of a jam. 

LARGE DIAMETER CANADIAN STEEL DUAL INFEED ROLLERS

The large diameter in-feed rollers measuring over 6 inches efficiently pulls material into the flywheel at 58 feet per minute. The rollers are made of high carbon steel chisel teeth and are spaced out to prevent debris buildup. The roller's self-cleaning ability enables the 165 lbs. of down pressure to concentrate on fewer teeth, thereby increasing their grip. HOCs in-feed rollers aggressively grab any size limb up to 8 inches without wrapping around the roller, an extremely effective feature.

HEAVY DUTY DRIVE V-BELTS

HOC chippers are fitted with high-strength drive v-belts, measuring 5/8 inches in width, for maximum durability. These specialized belts transmit more torque than traditional smooth v-belts.

WIDE ANGLED SUPPORT BASE AND ADJUSTABLE BASE LEGS

To ensure the machine remains stable and doesn't sink into soft ground during use, the HOC8H features a wide footprint skid support base with an angled end to prevent ground penetration. HOC PTO wood chippers can be adjusted to fit tractors with PTO heights ranging from 18" to 30".

AUTO-FEED STOP BAR

Safety is the top priority with all HOC equipment especially Wood Chippers. The HOC8H features a user-friendly hydraulic auto-feed stop safety bar located on the infeed bin's top, which can quickly reverse the infeed rollers in emergencies or for clearing the infeed bin.

Furthermore, the inclusion of a pressure compensation flow control valve enables adjustments to the infeed roller speed without creating hydraulic pump back pressure. This feature allows users to precisely align the infeed roller speed with their tractor's capabilities, extending the hydraulic pump's lifespan.

SPEED ADJUSTABLE IN-FEED ROLLER

The integration of a pressure compensation flow control valve enables adjustments to the speed of the infeed rollers without exerting back pressure on the hydraulic pump. This feature allows users to precisely regulate the speed of the infeed rollers according to their tractor's capabilities, while also extending the lifespan of the hydraulic pump.

360 DEGREE DISCHARGE CHUTE

The HOC8H chipper features a discharge chute that can easily rotate 360 degrees. 

HIGH ADJUSTABLE TENSION SPRINGS

The HOC chipper features high tension springs and a unique adjustment mechanism that provides a complete range of variable down pressure to accommodate branches of varying hardness. Users can adjust the upper roller down pressure by cranking up the tension to achieve approximately 165 lbs. of down pressure!

AUTOMATIC BELT TENSIONER

The HOC8H chipper's hydraulic pump drive belt is equipped with an automatic belt tensioner that maintains a consistent pressure on the belt. This feature is crucial because an overly tight belt can lead to excessive bearing and pump failure, while a loose belt can slip. With the automatic belt tensioner, there is no need for manual belt adjustments. It guarantees that the belt maintains the correct tension, thereby increasing the lifespan of the pump and bearings. Additionally, this feature saves you the hassle of constantly adjusting the belt.

FEED ROLLER ASSIST HANDLE 

The handle on the HOC chipper is designed to be easily accessed from either side of the machine. Additionally, the center lift point enables the use of stronger tension springs, which enhances the chipper's in-feed ability.

CLEAR VINYL BAFFLE 

The transparent vinyl baffle safeguards the operator from chips being blown back, while also enabling the operator to observe the activities inside the hopper.

ADJUSTABLE KNIVES

HOC wood chippers come with an adjustable bed knife to guarantee that the appropriate knife gap is attained. This capability allows users to regulate the space between the flywheel knife and the bed knife to ensure that the required distance is maintained even after knife sharpening or knife replacement.

Our machines undergo a thorough 25-point pre-inspection prior to being shipped out. You can follow the illustrated, user-friendly assembly manual and be done in no time!
