8 stand-alone Tube MP Project Series preamps in a box with an 8 i/o firewire interface, 2 instrument DI's and a headphone amp. It can function without a computer as 8 stand-alone mic/line preamps, or it can be used as an 8 in/8 out firewire interface. Each channel has Pad/Hi-Pass/Phase/+48, along with both input gain and output levels, with an LED level meter to set your gain.
The difference between this and your average firewire interface is the standalone mode... it will never be obsolete because it doesn't require a computer to set up or use... you just press a button and it's an old-school 8 channel preamp you can use with any interface/mixer. The 2 functions can be mixed/matched as well, you can select 2 units at a time for either pass through to the back jacks or firewire function.
The average price I could find online is $280 before shipping... $200 firm.
