Functional Analyst - Digital

What&'s the BIG idea?

Reporting to the Manager of the E-Commerce Solutions team, the primary focus of this position is developing functional design specifications for ATB&'s e-commerce applications based on business requirements, architectural solutions and wireframes designed by our Digital User Experience team. This role is required to collaborate with the delivery and quality assurance teams to provide a consistent view of the project deliverables broken down through the use of project tracking tools and to facilitate any issues requiring design changes throughout the project. In addition, this role is also required to continuously measure and work to develop plans to increase performance levels relative to measurements.

How will you do it?

You will dedicate 75% of your time in this role to project and service delivery. As the subject matter expert you will validate the user experience design can be achieved within the landscape and provide guidance and assistance to the Areas of Expertise on direction, complexity and approach. You will have the opportunity to participate in stakeholder requirements gathering / elicitation sessions as well as in peer reviews and inspections of requirements and technical documents to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly. Using your exceptional skills in creating connections you will bridge the gap between the development teams and the AOE&'s. But also:

  • Ensure that all relevant information is documented including functional and user experience requirements.
  • Work closely with the development, services, and architecture team to ensure implementation meets the functional requirements.
  • Organize and manage functional project work to drive predictable delivery.
  • Validate development work from an end user perspective throughout the development cycle.
  • Support defect resolution and maintenance of the e-commerce applications.
  • Break down deliverables into tasks to guide development.
  • Participate in estimation session and daily status meetings.

Approximately 15% of your time will be dedicated to Innovation, specifically tool productivity and advancement through learning and understanding the e-commerce platform technologies to ensure that where applicable, out of the box functionality can be employed to meet business requirements. As well as keep up to date with releases and patches to the platform technologies and work with the project and technical teams to insure we stay current and make the best use of any new features and functionality.

Finally, key performance indicators/service level achievement will be 10% of the focus for you in this role by:

  • Adhering to a set of agreed upon key measurements for service performance and delivery.
  • Communicating measurements with team and facilitate continuous learning processes.
  • Participate regular team reviews to identify and implement areas requiring corrective action or improvements.
  • Perform peer reviews on functional specifications developed by other team members.

Job Requirements:

What will you bring to the table?

  • University bachelor degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5 or more years experience in IT business and functional analysis.
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills.
  • Software development and project management experience.
  • Good understanding of web and mobile technologies.
  • Ability to work well with other teams/groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Aware of development/IT best practices and ensures they are documented and followed.
  • Experience with user experience best practices including UX, UI, and performance.
  • Awareness of new technologies/trends in Web development/Mobile/Lending.
  • Preferred to have experience with E-Commerce platforms.
