Reporting to the Digital Marketing Production Manager, the Senior .Net Developer leads the technical and functional development of Sheridan's primary web properties and web applications. The incumbent is part of an operational team that installs, designs, develops, implements and maintains Sheridan's entire web presence. The incumbent's responsibilities involve installation, support, and development of Sheridan's Sitecore Experience Platform (SXP) and corresponding websites and web applications. The incumbent investigates new or modified user requirements, designs and implements appropriate solutions, resolves reported problems, evaluates and installs software upgrades and develops new applications. The incumbent works in close collaboration with Information Technology teams to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of Sheridan.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting Sheridan's business-critical web properties in Sitecore, specifically and, by doing web application development as well as integrations and supporting applications

  • Reviewing requests to determine feasibility of implementation;

  • Analysing existing systems/system modules and available technologies, identifying and recommending possible solutions;

  • Providing senior technical support to maintain existing Sitecore systems;

  • Assessing and analyzing the requirements for new web features, functionality, and application modules for design and implementation purposes;

  • Providing high-level technical support and analysis for Sitecore system upgrades;

  • Maintaining, developing and sharing technical skills in a rapidly changing environment;

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.


The successful candidate will have a 3 year diploma/degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field a long with 8 years of web application design and development experience utilizing web based technologies and relational databases, ideally MSSQL or Oracle including a minimum of one year experience with Web Content Management Systems (development, customization and integration) is required. (Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Demonstrated experience with: ASP.NET MVC Web Applications HTMLS, CSS, Javascript and Web Services is also required. Experience with Sitecore CMS is preferred. Microsoft Certification (MCSD \- Web Applications) is considered an asset. Sitecore XP 8 Website Development for .NET Developers (WND) certification is also considered an asset.

The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, to problem solve, organize and prioritize duties, make decisions, work independently and deal with conflicting deadlines. A strong ability to research, troubleshoot and analyze data is also required along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
