Description

Porcellio Scaber Isopods permitted for sale by the Newfoundland Wildlife division. 10 for $5, 20 for $12. Can do other counts as well. Please read below’s policy to see the laws around the species

All isopods are for sale from wild and captive bred animals. All individuals are permitted for sale by the Newfoundland Wildlife Division, under a sale of live wildlife permit. The isopods CANNOT be sold, released, or shipped outside of the province, unless the purchaser possesses proper permits and documentation. Releasing of these animals is strictly prohibited due to them being an invasive species in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. The legally distributed isopods are for pets and do very well in bioactive environments. They also do a good job of cleaning small skulls and other bones. Please note, that although we quarantine our individuals, there are no guarantee that we catch any hitchhikers immediately, and this is why we recommend you quarantine your colony before introduction to any new space. Additionally, we also use small soil creatures such as varying springtails and soil mites, added purposefully, to keep soil conditions stable and bioactive. So if you do spot what appears to be a hitchhiker, keep in mind that it could just be a harmless beneficial resident. If you can no longer keep your isopods, surrender them to a conservation officer or back to us. NEVER release your isopods into the wild. You will receive a copy of our permit to ensure that all individuals were obtained and sold legally, however, owning a copy of this specific permit does not permit you to sell the isopods yourself. Please contact us regarding any concerns or questions regarding this policy. Sincerely, Everlife Taxidermy & Refurbishment’s Redomestication Program
