On behalf of our Client, a leading Office Supply/Furniture Retailer and Distributor, with an outstanding local reputation, we are pleased to be conducting a search for an Order Fulfillment and Retail Clerk . Our Client is well known for outstanding customer service, and is a leading supplier of office supplies and equipment as well as high quality office furniture in the Kawarthas, and across the Lakeshore Region and Central Eastern Ontario.
The Order Fulfillment and Retail Clerk provides help to store customers, processes transactions at the front counter, replenishes store products and creates special monthly displays. The role is very customer service focused and requires someone with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. This is a permanent, part-time job with weekday hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a Saturday rotation (every 4th Saturday. once per month, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Responsibilities associated with performing the job:
Focus on customer service by listening, selling, interpreting, consulting customers regarding products and services
Accurately enter sales transactions at the counter into our computer system in a courteous manner
Accurate cash and credit card transactions
Answering incoming telephone calls when required
Dealing with irate and concerned customers from time to time in an empathetic manner and reporting such incidents to a manager
Handling customer returns, exchanges and defective product
Stocking shelves and displays
Maintain clean sidewalk including shoveling and debris removal
Act in backup roles for Order Packer and Receiver as directed by Retail Manager
Performing the job with concern to health and safety at all times
Provide high level support in technical, janitorial, breakroom and general office products.
Accurately filling office supply orders
Responsible for researching, organizing and implementing monthly sales displays and signage as per Retail Manager’s retail plan summary.
Responsible for flyer displays and having signage printed and installed monthly
Preparing monthly sales displays & signage
Provide backup for customer service by phone and in person as required
Skills/ Knowledge/Experience required performing the job:
Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent work experience, strong mathematics skills
Working knowledge of office technology products e.g. computers, printers, peripherals, tablets, smartphones, etc.
Excellent communication skills will be utilized regularly, requiring some interpretation and product knowledge, and the ability to deal effectively and be courteous with others
Work as a flexible and courteous team player
Self-motivated, friendly and outgoing
Proper working knowledge of product lines and servicing methods of suppliers after 6-12 months working at the store
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasionally)
