If there is more than one number in the tread depth , ie 5/4/4/4 , it is the depth across the width of the tire .
We use a tread ruler to measure the tires . It is not an estimate .
Tread depth is measured in 32nd of an inch . 8/32 does not mean 25 per cent . It means 8/32nd of an inch .
( New car tires run somewhere near 9 / 32 to 12 / 32 tread depth depending on the type of tire and tread design . A car tire with 5 to 6 / 32 tread is about half tread .
New truck tires generally run from 12/ 32 to 17 / 32 . A Truck tire with 6 to 8 / 32 tread is about half tread . )

We check our tires for cuts , cracking , dryness , damage to the inner circle , uneven wear , and nails and screws . If a tire has any of these deficiencies it will be listed here in this section . Occasionally we might miss something , but we guarantee the tires that we sell . If you have a problem with a tire we sold , you can return it for a refund of the purchase price .

( This is the date the tire was made so you know how old the tire is . All tires are required by law to have the date of manufacture on the tire . It is called the DOT code . DOT stands for Department of Transportation . There are usually 3 sets of letters and numbers . The first 2 sets of numbers and letters are the country and tire plant where the tires were manufactured and the last is a 4 digit number signifying the week of the year and the year . ie: (4609) 46th week of 2009 .
