For Sale By Owner

A sealed copy of The Peter Principle from 1981.

In 1968, teacher Laurence Peter coined the phrase and concept "The Peter Principle." Briefly stated, it reads, "In a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to their level of incompetence." Peter continued,"In time, every post tends to be occupied by an employee who is incompetent to carry out their duties" and added that "work is accomplished by those employees who have not yet reached their level of incompetence."

Players compete to avoid promotion and remain competent (by making more "right" decisions than "wrong" ones). At the same time, each tries to force the others into promotion or into "deadwood" status (which happens by accumulating enough wrong decisions and being found out). The last player still alive and competent is declared the winner.
