The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care wants your input on upcoming Canadian health care guidelines!
The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care (CTFPHC) was established by the Public Health Agency of Canada to develop evidence-based guidelines for preventive health care in Canada. The CTFPHC has developed guidelines on a variety of topics, including breast cancer screening, prostate cancer screening, and type 2 diabetes screening. The CTFPHC would now like to get your input on one of its upcoming guideline topics: visual acuity screening.
By taking part in this project, you can play a valuable role in helping the CTFPHC produce guidelines that can help your doctor provide you with high-quality care. Furthermore, you will have an important opportunity to shape new guidelines for health care in Canada.
What you would do as a participant:
• As a participant, we would provide you with a list of harms and benefits that people may experience after getting screened for visual acuity. We would ask you to complete an initial survey rating how critical you consider these harms and benefits when people decide whether or not to get screened. We would ask you to discuss these harms and benefits with other Canadians during a 60-minute toll-free teleconference focus group. We would also ask you to complete a second brief online follow-up survey about your perceptions of the harms and benefits.
• Where the project takes place: You would complete all portions of the project online and by phone, so there will be no travel required. We welcome participation from Canadian residents from all provinces and territories.
• Requirement: You must be a resident of Canada aged 65 years or older. If you are interested in participating, we will ask you to complete a brief online questionnaire to assess your eligibility for taking part.
• Benefits to You: You would be compensated $35. You would also play a role in influencing preventive health care across the country.
How to get involved: If you are interested in taking part in this project, please contact Radha Sayal at email@example.com or call 416-864-6060 x77531 to get started.
