Once you’ve found some tea cups, get ready to make your candles by grabbing a large pot, a pot with a pouring mouth, candle wicks, candle wax (you can use Paraffin, Soy, or Beeswax), fragrance oils, a wooden spoon, and long wooden popsicle sticks.
Melt the wax
Place your wax in a large pot and melt it over medium-high heat. Make sure to watch it carefully and stir it often to ensure it’s not sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Make it smell good
To add scent to your candle, put in about 15 drops of your favourite fragrance oil. Consider using lavender to make relaxing, sleep-inducing candles, or using lemon to give your candles an invigorating and fresh scent.
Set the wick
While the wax is melting, place a candle wick at the base of each of your tea cups. Tie the end of each wick onto one of your popsicle sticks and place it horizontally on the rim of your tea cup. Make sure your wick stays centred to ensure it sets properly.
Pour the wax
After pouring the wax from your large pot to a pot with a pouring mouth, pour the wax into each of your tea cups, filling them three quarters to the top.
Cut the wick
Once you’ve filled your tea cups with wax, let the wax set for a couple of hours. Then, trim the wick of each candle to make them about a quarter of an inch long.
Light it up!
Once you’ve cut your wick, light your candle and enjoy!
