Late Night Pickup Hockey - Cole Harbour

Posted over a month ago
Dartmouth, NS B2W6C6(View Map)

We are a mixed-age (27-56), mid-paced pickup group playing 11pm Thursdays in Cole Harbour pretty much year round. As that's a stupidly late starting time (making it very difficult for many to get up the next morning for work) we often are looking for more spares interested in the occasional call-out. We have a roster of full-time players and we cap the skaters at 20 but sometimes due to travel or illness we end up with spots to fill on the shortened benches. If our roster numbers for the week are looking low, Wednesday at noon we send out a mass email to our big spare list and the first replies get in. One spot per email. Please don't ask for a spot for "your buddy" (who may or may not show up). And no, I'm not going to send a text to everyone individually, that's too much work! I'm trying to make this easier not harder!! (ok - rant done) It's no referees, no slapshots, no checking, no cheap stuff! Just fun, friendly, full gear, 2 goalie, mid-paced shinny. It's only $10 per spare and because we're the last scheduled game of the night, we're often allowed to stay on past the usual 50 minute mark (some times as much as 30mins extra ). If you want to be on the spare list, send your full name and email adress to If you've read this far, you know that it's Thursdays from 11pm to midnight (or so) in Cole Harbour with full gear, so please do not email and ask where or when or how long we play, because that will just alert me to the fact that perhaps you've been hit on the head too many times and shouldn't be playing at all. Hopefully, if you you have a sense of humour (and can read), we'll see you on the ice in Cole Harbour soon! The email, again, is
