No Longer Available - Marshall JVM 410H: special mods,...
LOWBALLS IGNORED & BLOCKED
Numerous soundclips of this very amp available; message me for them.
Trade for a Mesa Boogie Mark series. I prefer the older Marks but am open to a Mark V 90 or a Mark V 25 or 35 plus cash on that end.
Hi, I have a Marshall 410H. Like many owners, I found the noise and gain too much and wanted a couple mods done. I actually was messaging the Marshall JVM designer himself, Santiago Alvarez, about what to do and not to do. I have the messages we exchanged.
He advised on a couple mods to achieve my goals, to make the am less noisy and more organic and open:
1. Compression Reduction Mod
2. Negative Feedback Mod
I had renowned amp tech Chris Church (Google him; he does work for touring bands) perform the mods and put in a new set of tubes.
Of note, Chris put in a pot in the back to offer variable Negative Feedback resistor values. I find with the low value, it sounds more rich and thick, like my Marshall Plexi.
But you can also still use the "stock” or JCM 800 values, if you like; they’re brighter.
Also, you can reverse these mods but I don’t know why you would as the JVM is a great amp but owners often want to tweak the stock version of the amp. I’ve done it for you.
Note, I have about 15 sound clips from the the different channels (4 channels, each with 3 modes, green, orange, and red) and showcasing the negative feedback pot on low vs high. Plus, I’ve have a couple sound clips with the amp using an OD pedal as well. Message me and I’ll share those clips.
Here are the details about this legendary amp:
100-Watt valve head / Valve complement: 5 x ECC83 (12AX7s) in preamp, 4 x EL34s in power amp / 4 independent, footswitchable channels
In a nutshell, the Marshall all-valve, 4-channel JVM410H 100-Watt Tube Head is the most versatile Marshall amplifier ever made. It also boasts more gain than any other Marshall to date-and that's really saying something!
Each of its 4 channels-Clean, Crunch, OD1 & OD2 are not only completely independent of each other, they all boast 3 Modes, all 12 of which are footswitchable and feature their own unique gain structure.
It makes the JVM 4-channel effectively 12 Marshalls in one! The JVM410H has studio-quality Digital reverb with a level control for each channel.
This is also footswitchable, as are the amp's two Master Volume controls and the Series/Parallel effects loop.
Resonance and Presence are equipped with master controls. Even though the head and combo both house 28 controls and 8 LED switches on their front panels, they're incredibly simple to understand because of the extremely logical layout.
Each of the 4 channels has the usual suspects when it comes to controls Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble & Gain-accounting for 20 of the 28 controls right away.
Take away the 4 reverb controls and you're only left with 4 Master controls-2 Master Volumes plus Resonance & Presence.
