Parting ways with my well-loved Ashdown bass head! I purchased this in 2017. It’s played many gigs, and hasn’t failed me once.
It sounds really great. I particularly like the amount of EQ control it offers, with its 3 big-knob main EQ, and additional 4 sliders. Then it’s got a few extra tricks:
Tube drive: This drives one 12ax7 tube in parallel with your original signal. You can get a nice balance of subtle warmth to full on tube grit. It rips! I used this all the time.
Compressor: The knob for this actually broke off, but the circuit still works. It can easily be replaced, but tbh I never really found a use for the compressor, so I never bothered.
Sub Octave: Thats right! It’s got a sub octave generator built in, and it sounds awesome.
One other small note.
Speakon Outputs: Some people get confused with speakon outputs, and think you can only use a speakon cable for it, but it’s not true. You can plug a regular speaker cable into the center of the speakon output.
