VINTAGE PORTABLE AC/DC MINI GUITAR AMP JAPAN (pre Pignose 7-100?)
i have looked for a very long time and never seen another like it, except for the Pignose Legendary 7-100. Is it a knock-off, or did Pignose copy it? Who knows - but they are awfully similar.
This great sounding, surprisingly loud and versatile little amp measures 23.5cm(9-1/4") x 18.5cm(7-1/4") x 13cm(5-1/8"), weighs ~5-1/4lbs(2.4kgs) and comes equipped with:
Volume control
1/4" Instrument Input jack
1/4" Pre-amp out jack
9V AC adapter
C-cell battery magazine
Original circuit diagram
Like the 7-100, the amp is of good, solid construction, with sturdy handle and strap buttons and nice chrome corner protectors, latch and hinges.
Unlike the 7-100, that runs off of 6 AA's, this amp has a battery bank that takes 6 C-cells, giving it loads of playing time.
Cosmetically it's in outstanding condition, particularly for its age. Only real fault are the two 'dimples' in the tolex on the front of the amp (1:00 and 4:00 o-clock positions) where the speaker mounting screws are. Hardly noticeable in normal light and exaggerated in the pics.
Great little playing amp and conversation piece, all packs away nicely in a hinged cab.
