Antique Brass Church Pricket Tall Floor Candle Holder Pair

A truly stunning pair (2) 19th century 1800's very large 31 inch antique French Gothic Church alter and/or floor candle holders or Pique Cierge. The size is imposing, but also the tripod base which has three lion feet, two panels depicting Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene in high relief and one panel Sacred Hearts. Known in France as 'Pique Cierge', each candle holder holds one large candle. Made of solid bronze or brass, they are very heavy and appear to be coated with an ormolu finish. There is some verdigris in some places.

CONDTION: They are as found in antique condition. One of the prickets looks to have fallen and the candle holder part is a bit wonky on one side (the back side!) and the pricket was damaged (shorter than the other) and has a small ding / fissure that was pointed out to me it took me time to find it again. I had candles on them and stupidly threw them out before photographing. Alternative would be to remove both and let the candle sit on the base.

SIZE: They stand a whopping 31 inches tall excluding the prickets - depending on the size of candle, would make an amazing decorative accent.
