Description

Early 20th century Austrian bronze study of a young boy practicing writing on sheet of parchment; by Franz Xavier Bergman (1861-1936) - one of the most famous of the Viennese cold-painted bronze artists. Surface of the bronze with cold painted colours and fine finished detail. A few very minor flakes, consistent with age. Piece has been mounted on an onyx pedestal. stamped with the Bergman 'B' in an amphora.
