This is a great collectible pan of the FINDLAY legacy and next to impossible to find!!
A ghost mark is the faint remnant of a different logo on an item. This means the mold was altered and use by a different company after decommissioned.
This company was started in 1862 and produced farm implements. In 1876, Findlay began producing stoves and related kitchen and cooking equipment. In 1960, Findlay purchased the patterns and tools from the Smart’s plant in Brockville, Ontario. They continued to make Smart’s products out of Carleton Place until Smart’s closed in 1965. Findlay was selling cast iron that was ghost marked. If you have “Smart’s” ghosted Findlay pieces, then it was produced somewhere between 1965 and 1974 when the plant was shut down by Belanger.
