First Day Cover - Flag Over Mountain Scene - Jan. 28, 1992. Bought new and sat in a box until now.
"This fourth "quick Sticks" self-adhesive stamp shows our national flag over a typical Canadian mountain scene.
Canada's natural scenic beauty is often characterized by the spectacular mountain topography of the western quarter of the country. Formed by tectonic forces, the western Cordillera features the long, narrow ranges of the Rocky Mountain system and the broader, higher coast Range. Canada's highest individual peaks are found in the Yukon's St. Elias Mountains, most notably Mount Logan, which tops the list at 5950 metres.
Despite the fact that Canada's most famous ranges are in the west, the Far North, the Atlantic Provinces and Quebec also enjoy their share of rugged mountain terrain, although older and quite subdued as a result of erosion.
