Vintage magazine ads offer a fascinating glimpse of real-life history, an archive of what advertisers thought the world wanted. Ready to frame, matte or laminate, these authentic classic ads can add to the unique decor of your home, business or showroom. My ads are authentic and carefully cropped from original publications. See our website at vintageadguy.com .

History- (from Wikipedia) “Admiral is an American appliance brand founded as Continental Radio and Television Corp. a maker of consumer electronics (radios and phonographs) in Chicago during 1934. This later became Admiral Corp. Its annual sales were about $2-million. Admiral supplied the U.S. military with electronic equipment during World War II, and was one of the major television manufacturers in the early era of that medium. Success in television sales enabled the company to branch out into major appliances such as refrigerators by the 1950s. Annual sales approached $300 million and the company employed 8,500 people by the early 1960s. The various divisions were sold to other companies by the mid-1970s due in part to competition from imported consumer electronic goods from Japan.

Condition- This ad is in excellent condition and it is unusual in that it is the bottom half of two pages so that, when put together, it makes a large horizontal image (21 ¼ inches wide and 7 inches high). The first picture shows what this ad would look like trimmed and matted. The other two pictures show the untrimmed pages. The ad is sold untrimmed and not matted.

This item can be picked up in Porters Lake. Let me know which works best for you. See the link to my other ads in the upper right corner for more great ads, magazines, and books. I have several other ads that are not yet listed. Let me know if you’re looking for a specific subject or company.
