2007 1/25 OZ GOLD COIN - THE WOLF
The reverse of the coin designed by Royal Canadian Mint engraver William Woodruff depicts a she wolf standing on a ridge calmly surveying the valley below.
While wolves have already been exterminated in many places, there may be less of such excesses in the future, due to greater awareness among hunters and others, that in wilderness ecology, wolves play an important role by preying on big game animals and helping to control their population.
