Rare, Original Canadian, Historical Black Racialized, Stone Lithographed Illustrated Advertising Card, Depicting a Racist Caricature of a Black Man with crates of fruit, Campbell's Shoe House, Guelph, Ontario, c1882-3, 4 1/4” x 2.8”, with dirt, mounting hole in centre top, & two clear taped tears (1/2” x .85”).
On the front it's marked, 'A Berry Crate Accident, P.S. This a Pun', along with an illustration of a racist stereotype of a hatted Black Man, wagon filled with crates of 'Berries', & an Artist's Palette.
On the verso, it's marked, 'Don't Miss It., The Last Week of the Great, Discount Clearing Sale at Campbell's Shoe House., 15 Cents Off Every Dollar On All Purchases., 31 Lower Wyndham Street, Sign of the Elephant'.
