    Description

    CANADIAN SEPIA CABINET PHOTOGRAPH Marked in Impressed Gold, 'Gagen & Fraser, 79 King Street West Toronto' of Portrait of Young Man with Moustache, Flower Boutonniere, in 3 Piece Suit, c1880's, approx. 6 1/2" x 4 1/4", in excellent condition. It's numbered at the back in graphite, probably by the photographer, 43242. Gagen & Fraser was started in 1878 by Robert Ford Gagen, R.C.A. (1847-1926), noted Canadian artist, & James Fraser after they left the renowned photographic firm, Notman & Fraser (John A. -James's brother). They were in business until 1896.
