Description

John B. Mainga was born in 1954 in the district of Machakos in Kenya. He began his art education in Shauri Moyo YMCA in Nairobi. Financial hardship forced him to abandon his art studies before their conclusion, but he familiarised himself with techniques that he was to be well known for - the "leather batik".
