Description
273 Tiny Birdhouse Collection Title: Iterations
THIS IS LOCATED IN GUELPH.
This is LOCATED IN GUELPH, Ontario. I am the Artist who has created and is now selling 273 tiny birdhouses (2.5x1.5x2.5 inches/6.5x3.5x6 cm). Each house is unique* and has a description/title. The collection has been exhibited and well received in two galleries (New York/USA, Ontario/Canada). The project is u n i q u e and is looking for a new owner. Supporting information and images are available upon request. The houses must be seen to be appreciated for the detail, obsession and effort devoted to the project. The houses are mounted to three 2x4 foot panels with hanging hooks. Two houses* in the collection are the same, presenting a challenge for anyone able to identify them. The artist endeavored to create a collection constructed almost exclusively of reclaimed lumber, sourcing material from a local lumber yard and roofing company. The next owner could invite patrons or students to create their own house that would be added to the collection, creating a one-of-a-kind participatory exhibit. One of the exhibiting galleries described the collection as follows: “This is a singular work consisting of original birdhouses, created using reclaimed wood and recycled materials. The individual works are flights of whimsy imagining the greater possibilities that could be available for bird homes. The Artist has incorporated a plethora of found materials such as screws, nuts and bolts, matchbook cases, playing cards, matchbox cars and more.” Another description reads: “The playful collection is a censorious commentary on the maleficent culture in which North American birds perpetuate their stagnant style of architecture. Through a rhetorical lens, the work aspires to infuse hope and change.” The creator is selling the collection to assist in covering expenses associated with living.
Thanks.
