This is a HOUMONGI style of kimono with a purple crepe silk and a lighter padding at the hem.These are semi-formal, hand painted kimono. It can be belted but also makes a dramatic display.
The crepe silk purple colour or murasaki symbolizes in Japan nobility and strength. Purple can also represent wisdom and spirituality.

This HOMONGI is lined on white and soft peach colour silk, The white silk is impeccable but the peach colour is showing some decolouration and yellowish patch on the sleeves. The purple silk shows some decolouration too under the Obi is suppose to go

Circa 1930 in very good condition considering the age of this piece and strong to wear.
