Vintage Eaton’s Fine China dishes cup/saucer,sugar bow/Lid #399

The dishes 4@6⅜” 2@ 8½” 1@10¼”; 2 cups and saucers, sugar bowl with lid This design, pattern #399, believed from the 1930s; it is very rare. Pattern: silver rim, soft blue leaves around rim, below each pair of rim leaves is a soft blue flower light yellow center and outer green leaves.

It is listed as fine China, which is durable and food safe. It’s silver trimmed edge makes it unsuitable for a microwave use. but hand washing is less likely to have caustic damage. All pieces have: no crazing, smooth glossy surfaces top and bottom, rounded edges with no rough spots, smooth glossy white surfaces, bear the same T Eaton Co logo, same design and colours.

PLATES - smallest plates: diameter 6⅜”/16,2 cm, height ⅝”//1.6 cm, rim ⅞”/2.2 cm wide; 12 flower groups around rim - 2 medium sized dishes: diameter 8½”/21.6 cm, height ½”/1.3 cm, rim 1¼”/3.2 cm wide, use 15 flower groups. - 1 large dish: diameter 10¼”/26.0 cm, height ⅞”2.2 cm, rim 1⅝”/4.1 cm W, uses 12 flower groups All the plates have very small light scratches on the eating surface, normal for 90 year old plates, otherwise in excellent condition.

TEACUPS and SAUCERS Cup capacity 8 oz/237 ml ; height 2⅝/6.7 cm”, top diameter 3⅞”/9.8 cm bottom diameter 1⅞”/4.8 cm, width with handle 4¾”/12 cm, handle 2¼”5.7 with 1”2.5 cm projection; 8 flower group decoration as in plates. One cup is in excellent condition and 1 has a crack in the side. Saucers have 6”/15 diameter, ¾”/1.9 cm high; the saucers have 10 flower groups; these are in excellent condition; decorations match the cups and plates.

SUGAR BOWL The sugar bowl has a top diameter of 5”/12.7 cm, bottom diameter 2¾”/7 cm, width with handles 7½”/19 cm, the bowl opening is 2¾”/17 cm, height with lid 3½”/8.9 cm high; uses 8 flower groups. The lid has 2 tiny chips near one edge.
