    Four Li’l Abner Books, by Kitchen Sink Press, V. 1, 2, 4, and 5

Li'l Abner was a satirical comic strip that appeared in many newspapers in the United States, Canada and Europe. It featured a fictional clan of hillbillies in the impoverished mountain village of Dogpatch. Written and drawn by Al Capp, the strip ran for 43 years, (August 1934 through November 1977).

The strip had 60 million readers in more than 900 American newspapers and 100 foreign papers in 28 countries. Fans of the strip ranged from novelist John Steinbeck, who called Capp "very possibly the best writer in the world today" in 1953, and even earnestly recommended him for the Nobel Prize in literature — to media critic and theorist Marshall McLuhan, who considered Capp "the only robust satirical force in American life." Journalism Quarterly and Time both called him "the Mark Twain of cartoonists."

The collection I have for sale was published in 1988 by Kitchen Sink Press Kitchen Sink Press published 27 volumes of Capp's Li'l Abner daily strips in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Kitchen Sink covered Capp's comic strip from 1934 through 1961 before going out of business.
