    Description

    Large (10 ¼ by 14) 1947 full-page Macmillan Oil ad

Title- “Lady..Keep this under your bonnet!”- the ad shows a leggy dame talking to a gas station attendant.

Vintage magazine ads offer a fascinating glimpse of real-life history, an archive of what advertisers thought the world wanted. Ready to frame, matte or laminate, these authentic classic ads can add to the unique decor of your home, business or showroom. My ads are authentic, and carefully cropped from original publications. Please check out my website at http://sessmith.wix.com/antiquead2.

History- Macmillan Oil operated primarily in the south and west of the United States. The company is credited with developing the first composite can in the 1940s due to the lack of metal during the war. The company’s head office was in Long Beach, California.

Condition- This ad is in excellent condition.

You can pick this up in Porters Lake. I do go into northend Halifax once a week during the lunch hour and could meet you there if that is easier. Follow us on Twitter @AntiqueAds1 and on Facebook (facebook.com/Antique-Advertising-959094284105107/?fref=hovercard).
