Unknown artist but the known style indicates this Vestment Tapestry is Made in Europe. Likely Belgium or Germany or possibly France. The image is from a country Castle with its own port at the sea. There is no appearant signature but it could be under the frame. Meticuously Hand stitched this is known to be a very old Tapestry and has been in my family for over one hundred years! From family tales and what we have found out it could be from the 17th or 18th century according to sources in such art works which seemed to recognize it. It measures 56 inches by 28 inches. We are hestitant to take it apart to find out more. The Tapestry is custom dry mounted without glue on a firm back board in an exceptional gold leaf wooden frame by Buck Saunders Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona. It pictures a castle by the sea. The pictures really dont show the irridencent colors used in the stiching styles and really must be seen to be appreciated. IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS AD THE ITEM IS STILL AVAILABLE!
