Vintage antique Charles Lindbergh Tapestry Spirit of St. Louis. Celebrating his good-will flight from New York to Mexico in December 1927 soon after his world famous first solo air crossing of the Atlantic - New York to Paris. Lindbergh had responded to an invitation from Dwight Morrow, the American ambassador to Mexico, and while there, he met the ambassador's daughter, Anne, who became his wife. 4' 9" by 1' 7". "Polychrome machine woven pictorial from New York to Mexico City, two views of The Spirit of St. Louis; one each above both cities with central portrait of Lindbergh with name on ribbon banner, attached to a U.S. flag with laurel branches" The condition is very good with only some missing threads. (A similar one of these sold in 2009 for $345.00)
