Vintage 1940's Test Tube mailer w/ address for Metro Animal Laboratory This is a very old Test Tube mailer canister from the early to mid 1940's. Notice the phone number does not have an area code. Area Codes were introduced in Toronto in 1947. So this tube and printed material is before 1947.
The tube is in excellent shape. The address tag seen in the picture was originally glued onto the tube. I did not glue it back on as I will leave that to the new owner as these things are often done in a chosen manner.
There is a Patient and test required sheet that you fill in when you mail the test tube specimen of the animal you are wanting tested. It is addressed to the "Metro Animal Laboratory' and notice the phone number has no area code. Or interestingly enough it also does not have a Postal Code. Just an LE. 3-3925.
It is a rare and interesting piece.
Today 676 Bloor St. West is the Bloor Meat & Grocery market.
I am in the Eastbridge Area of Waterloo near Rim park and Conestoga Mall.
Also I can get this delivered to an Oakville location for pick up near the intersection of Rebecca St. & Jones St. just a few short minutes off the QEW and Bronte Road.
