An extremely rare paper item & in good condition showing only normal signs of wear. These 2 pieces of paper are STATEROOM BAGGAGE STICKERS & they date to the year 1956. They have yellowed & paper is quite dry yet they are in tact.
The oval AROSA LINE luggage sticker is appx. 6" x 4". It has been filled out & belonged to Passenger Jacques Pinsonnet. The ship was the AROSA STAR. Tourist class. Cabin no. 125 & date October 11, 1956. From Le Havre to Quebec, Canada.
There is also a 3.75" square sticker entitled AROSA LINE & the letter P. Missing some paper at bottom right corner & center.
Originally the AROSA STAR was the S.S. Boringuen-Puerto Rico, a Passenger Liner operating since Sept. 24, 1930. It operated in the West Indies. Requisitioned by the War Dept. in 1941 as a Troop Transport. It continued it's war time operations until May 6, 1944 when it was transferred to U.S. Army as part of the Normandy assault. The ship was sold in 1949 & became the AROSA STAR. Sold a few more times & grounded as La Jenelle in 1970 at California.
