Lovely Serene Vintage Framed Original Winter Woods Oil Painting!

For sale is a superbly painted, beautifully Framed, Vintage Canadian Landscape Original Oil Painting, depicting a tranquil, wintery forest! This most appealing oil-on-canvas work is in stellar condition! It is mounted in a burlap and antiqued gold matting, and nestled perfectly into an impressive, ornately carved, chunky, solid wood frame, which further enriches the overall look of this wonderful painting. The canvas sight measures 8 inches high x 10 inches wide. Fully framed, the piece grows to a substantial 17.25 inches tall x 15.25 inches tall. The artist signature appears to be 'Leonu', but, with assisted research, the name is not 'branded', and further reference was not located in hopes of further identifying the painter. It is believed to be an Ontario artist, given the subject, and the fact that the piece bears a small, chrome plaque, indicating that the painting was proudly selected as a commemorative gift for a Canadian Hockey Organization, located in Aurora, Ontario. The inscription on the plaque, which can easily be removed without damaging the frame, reads, "Roy Caley Night International Silver Stick Hockey Ass'n Inc. 1978", This aesthetically pleasing work was, no doubt, a well-chosen, valuable, and thoughtful gift that once hung prominently on the wall of the recipient. The talent is evident in this work, skillfully placed brush strokes and sponging, the use of the perfect colours, meticulous detail in the light, bark, shadows, and every touch of snow....just a marvelous painting that would bring much peace and reflection to the right home.
