This is a very old tea pot, and is missing its lid. It has seen better days for sure, but you can bet that it has served up many a fine cup of tea to its master.
It has Reed & Barton stamped on the bottom, along with SILVER SOLDERED, and then THE HARRINGTON. If you have time to do the investigation, you might turn up some interesting history on this tea pot.
If you know Reed & Barton then you know they were and are top of the line silver smiths and that silver soldered meant that it was a high quality piece made for the finest hotels or establishments.
It has some hallmarks on the bottom, but as my eyes have aged I cannot make out exactly what they are.
I don’t think this pot would ever be put back into regular duty again, but it would certainly make an excellent ornament and discussion piece. And if this piece could talk, it would have many a fine story to tell.
It has been in storage for the last few years so it needs a thorough cleaning and polishing. But put a bit of work into it and it might shine.
I am asking only $15 for it.
