This Victorian serpentine front tiger wood dresser is in very good condition and has all original wood and mirror. Features lovely Victorian scroll work and a curved front on all drawers and matching curved top. The beveled mirror is in perfect condition as no silver has worn off. Beautiful and unique antique dresser has lovely carvings on the mirror / harp, as well as hand carved dove tailed drawers. This dresser is over 100 years old. Drawers slide easily. It has some minor scratches on the top. Really good solid condition. Original beautiful decorative mirror, brass hardware, skeleton key drawer locks, and is on original wood caster wheels. Quarter sawn oak is also called tiger oak because, due to the way in which it was cut, the grain resembles the stripes on a tiger. This cut was wasteful but achieved beautiful results, which is why it is usually seen on the more expensive antique furniture pieces. Oak wood has a very distinctive and pretty grain which has been used in antique furniture to show it off at its best. The dresser measures 40" (102cm) wide by 20" (51cm) deep by 28.5" (72cm) high. The mirror glass measures 19" (48cm) across by 37" (94cm) high. Height of dresser and mirror is 75" (190cm) Very nice condition for being over 100 years old. It would be a fabulous piece in the bedroom. Comes from a non-smoker / smoke free home. Would sell for over $900 in an antique store.
Reduced Selling Price to $300 (was $550)
