VINTAGE BAKELITE WLEA 1480 KC MIKE-RADIO UNIVERSAL PUBLICIZERS

PARKER PICKERS - This 1960s or earlier "MIKE-RADIO" made by Universal Publicizers of Chicago was designed to look like an old time microphone but it was really a radio that only tuned into only one radio station which in this case was WLEA 1480 KC in Hornell, N.Y. USA. It looks to be made of bakelite material and is embossed on one side with the words NEWS SPORTS MUSIC and on the other side with the letters M B S . The knob at the top turns properly and there is a hum but obviously you can't tune into that station from Mississauga. The metal mesh at the front is in perfect condition and this is a stunning piece of radio history!
