* Chintz designs became popular with English potters about 1928. It was manufactured on a large scale between the 1920s to early 1950s and appeared primarily on tea ware and dinner ware. Typical chintz ware is colour lithographed transfer paper applied over clear glazed ware, rather than the more conventional process of hand painting.
