PRICE DROP! 12” SATSUMA Style Vase & 4.25” SATSUMA Style Egg

This is a gorgeous 12" Satsuma style vase and a 4.25" egg in the same style. Both pieces have a moriage pearl treatment, giving them a wonderful tactile finish. I've learned that authentic Satsuma ware pieces will never have any English words printed on them, such as "Hand Painted", "Satsuma", "Royal Satsuma", etc. These pieces do not have the English words, so I was hopeful that they might be the real deal. However, I don't feel that the quality of the illustrations and painting is of the calibre that would identify them as authentic Satsuma. Also, there is no intentional "crackling" or "crazing" in the finish, which indicates that these are most unlikely to be real Satsuma ware. All of that said, they are fantastic pieces, with hand painted enamel and gilt detailing and only the slightest signs of age. The asking prices reflect the fact that I do not believe them to be authentic Satsuma ware. Asking $60 for the vase and $30 for the egg or $75 for both (cash only, please).
