This is a rare vintage butchers sharpening steel.This steel has no visible name stamped on it.It is steel stamped FORGED STEEL and SHEFFIELD,ENGLAND under that.This steel measures 15 1/4 inches in length.The wooden handle is 4 1/2 inches long.The handle but it does have some scratches and nicks on it probably from use and being move around.The shank is fairly clean.
The wooden handle has a swivel ring on the end of its handle to hang it up when not in use.
It is still usable or would make a very nice addition to your old steel collectors collection.
