SHOPPING FOR A SPECIAL GIFT for a U of M GRAD?? Great Keepsake for Someone who Graduated from THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA! ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA OFFICIAL 1877 - 1977 CENTENNIAL SILVER PLATE STERLING SILVER COMMISSIONED BY U of M ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FRANKLIN MINT This is an original limited edition solid sterling silver plate commissioned in 1977 by the U of M Alumni Association to mark the Centennial of the University of Manitoba. Features an original design of the Administration Building. Produced by the Franklin Mint. Brochure states that the Plate is mintmarked and serially numbered. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. From the brochures with this plate, it states that there is a sterling silver medallion on the back of the plate with the serial number. This one is #401 as stated on the Certificate. Plate which is 8" in diameter, is in mint condition. Comes in an attractive white case with a royal blue satin lining. Has never been removed from the original display case. Don't know how heavy the plate is since it was never out of the packaging which is a heavy shrink wrap that covers the plate and the base that it rests on. Would be the equivalent of other plates of this type produced to commemorate a special occasion. The brochure does not give the weight of the silver in this plate. This plate would look great mounted in the special wooden frames that are made for plates and displayed on the wall. I have been the only owner of this commemorative plate. All my documents from my purchase in 1977 will accompany this item.
