    Description

ATTENTION ALL ANTIQUE SKI HISTORIANS, ADVENTURERS, HISTORY BUFFS, ARCTIC HISTORIANS, & COLLECTORS OF IMPORTANT PIECES! THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXTRAORDINARY OPPORTUNITY - to own a museum-worthy special pair of skis & poles used by incomparable record-breaking, awarded hero explorer & cartographer Captain Robert Bartlett, during his Arctic expeditions. Experts have identified them as “classic Norwegian designed early 1900’s skis”, nipple-tipped with decorative groove tops. Expert findings say they are likely made by either Strand or Northland. They are currently fitted with what are believed to be Harvey E. Dodd Kandahar style bindings possibly licensed by Reuge of Switzerland. These skis bear a rich legacy of fifty years of Arctic exploration including guiding US Navy Commander Robert Peary on his infamous trek to the North Pole, as well Bartlett’s astonishing death-defying 700 mile Arctic rescue trek. Find Captain Bartlett’s remarkable Arctic story on Wiki. These skis have been privately owned for many decades by a personal acquaintance of Captain Bartlett. Base price on these skis would normally be $695 USD, but these command a premium as a historical artifact with a celebrated provenance. Captain Bartlett was Canadian born, awarded US citizenship, and died in NYC. Price for these legendary skis will be privately negotiated.
