Hardcover book published by Charles Scribner's Sons. *First Edition, First Printing 1938* with Scribner's seal and the letter 'A' (denoting first printing). Illustrations by Edward Shenton. 428 pages. The book is in fair condition. Beige cloth covers with mild general soiling, spine is tanned. Internal pages are intact and well bound. Pages 141-144 have old tape applied to an approx 51/2 long" tear. There is no dust jacket. "The Yearling" won the Pulitzer Prize for the author in 1939. A movie based on this book, was nominated as best motion picture in 1946. It starred Gregory Peck (who won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role) and Jane Wyman (nominated for Best Actress).
