Olive J. Coghlin (Walsh) an original founder of the 'Art in the Park' exhibitions in Stratford, Ontario, currently living in Listowel.

She studied under Matthew Kousal. I believe she started in the mid-1960's, about 50 years ago.

She is a listed Canadian artist, archived with National Gallery of Ottawa and along with Peter Etril Snyder, was taught the use of Kousal's distinctive techniques.

Her paintings are mostly landscapes, many times there is a road that curves around a lake, river or field and we're left with a view of some lovely backwoods before us.

In her own words: "Each painting is an original composition of a place visited. If you love what you are doing, it usually shows. We have such a beautiful country, it’s a challenge to capture it on canvas. It takes observation, practise, thought and previous experience to get what you see, into a painting." -Olive Coghlin
