Heini Waser, born in Zurich, Switzerland, 1913-2008, was a listed Swiss artist and was, like Cezanne, (a strong influence) close to the earth as a painter. He was taught by the Fauve artists of the 1930's and used bold outlines and strong earth colors, capturing shapes, textures and colors of his beloved countryside. He loved and explored the Swiss landscape and especially the Bern countryside. This original watercolor is a panoramic view overlooking Bern by the Aar river, under an overcast sky.
His works command prices in European auction houses in the $500.00 to $1500.00 range.
He exhibited and was honoured in several European countries and especially in Switzerland where he worked almost to the end of his life.
