Henry Rogers, in the 1960's produced a goodly numbers of Parisian Street Scenes that became and are still immensely popular. Using a palette knife he created impressionistic scenes that are easy on the eyes and they all have an accomplished mood, beautifully executed.
A lot of his paintings seem to come out of the same neighborhood and always from a different perspective. One could imagine him living in the same area, occupying the same bistro and then packing up his paints and walking home.
This work is in a small corner of a Parisian street, the restaurants are bustling, ready for the evening crowd. There are couples walking towards one of these inviting places as the warm evening is closing in.
The painting and frame are in good condition and it's ready to hang.
