What seems to be happening in his always lively paintings is a certain moment of time in the animal's life. That riveting focus of an impression gives us opportunity to find other dynamic forces at work while the animal or bird lives through it's moment. A bird caught in mid-flight over a waterfall, while we look at the rocks below, a brand new lynx kitten stepping out of a wild bouquet of flowers startled and steeled into silence with it's first new life encounter, and you can imagine in perhaps a year an unstoppable fury of muscle and heart comes streaking out of that silence.
